MMS videos do not play in the bitesms app but they play fine in the stock messages app. Is this being worked on?

Bite SMS 6.0.18 on my iphone 3GS firmware 5.0.1 jailbreak by redsn0w_win_0.9.9b8. My Girlfriend has the same bug on a Iphone 4 firmware 5.0.1 jailbreak by redsn0w_win_0.9.9b8
I have a bug : In a conversation, when I receive a new message, I see my olds messages that i have already sent above the keyboard. So I have to tap on “messages” and return to the conversation to have the new messages above the keyboard.
When my girlfriend is writing (when I see this on my conversation ”...”) with imessage, it’s the same bug.

Edit by Martin, there were some bugs associated with iMessage and conversations. Only way to fix it is to “correct your database” by removing that conversation.

BUG:
While in receiving iMessages (I don’t know if this applies to texts too), and I’m in the thread that I receive the iMessage in, sometimes it shows that I receive a text from a different person (Messages (1) on top left), but when I tap that message button on the top left, it shows that it was from the person I was talking to originally.

I am also having problems with dreamboard. On the lock screen, the keyboard does not show in QC or QR. This definitely seems like a dreamboard error, but I thought I’d mention that I’m also having problems if there is anything you can do :)

Is anyone else havin problems where when you receive a text from a # less then 7 digits (in my case chase text alerts) it crashes bitesms?

another bug:
when you open BiteSms and delete a schedulation, BiteSms crashs the first time…
if THEN you try again to delete another schedulation, BiteSms works correctly

Is there any chance the pass code feature can be used to reveal the message rather than just to reply? I can set it to hide message but I use lockinfo with privacy – which hides the message, then I have to tap on it – then you can read the message and have to enter the pass code to reply. Is there any way to get it to instantly ask for password as soon as I tap the lockinfo cell? Without having to hide the message and tap show to actually see the message – then Tap reply and then be presented with a pass code request.

Edit by Martin, you’ll need to ask LI, as they control what occurs when you tap the lockinfo cell.

In simple: any way to require password instantly – even to read the message? Im not very good at explaining things lol.

Thank you for the amazing work. This app is alone – THE reason to jailbreak. I had the trial back on 4.1 for under an hour before I knew I had to get a license. Just incredible. You’ve done us proud Martin.

Since the latest beta update, my battery is draining a lot faster. Trouble is, there have also been a number of recent LockInfo updates. it’s one of the two that’s causing this, so I thought I’d check here to see if anyone else is experiencing this who’s not using LockInfo?

for anyone who cares, i was having trouble setting up the way i wanted with Lockinfo installed. I think i’ve finally figured it out and i believe there were some other posts that hinted at the same thing so hopefully this helps others as well. Here’s what i wanted.

On lockscreen, to not have the BiteSMS alert/QR show as a popup. i wanted the phone to wake and the alert to get added to the LI menu. Upon tapping the LI menu for the SMS, the QR window would popup.

On homescreen, i wanted all Apple notification (banner, standard alert style) to be disabled entirely, and I wanted QR to show upon receiving a message. It sounds pretty straightforward, right? Well, for whatever reason i was having trouble…and also wasn’t getting answers here. Here’s what you need to do:

Popup Blocker => Block Away Items enabled
Popup Blocker => Alerts => Push Notifications => Exceptions => Bite SMS and Messages ‘ON’. I’m not so sure how important this is, but it’s how it’s set up and it’s working so i’m not messing with it.

BiteSMS => Quick Reply => Alert Style => Show Quick Reply
BiteSMS => Quick Reply => in Notification Center => Open Quick Reply
BiteSMS => Quick Reply => in Lockscreen => Auto Show Quick Reply ‘OFF’

LockInfo => Plugins => Messages => Tap To Reply => biteSMS QuickReply

of course you need all the other obvious settings like ‘Wake On Alert’ and the ‘Lockscreen Visibility’ to be enabled, but I think this is what will get you the setup i’ve described. good luck

Sometimes I have that issue with my messages not showing up in iMessage convo view with 1 person as well. It’s intermittent so kind of hard to reproduce.

when i quick reply to group chats over imessage, my messages don’t show up when i open up bitesms and continue the conversation within the app.

Bug on beta 18: If I plan to send a message on a designated day and write the text and putting the date, if I turn off the screen and then power back up in the message programmed screen… the text entered and the date disappear and i forced to re-enter everything from scratch.

Hey guys, sorry if this is a duplicate bug post, I tried to look through it but 56 pages is a lot ;-)
In iMessage conversations I’m getting previously sent messages just popping up in between the current sent messages. For example this morning, three bubbles in a row: 8:46:33AM 7:00:05AM 8:46:40AM, but then after a little more chatting, those “previous” bubbles disappear. Does that make sense?

@martin, I went though all the MS apps that I have 1 by 1. And for me I believe I found what was causing my problem and that was QUICKMP3. With this off everything works fine! Thanks for all the hard work ur putting in! ;)

Actually, I still get the regular Messages app showing in Spotlight Search even though I have the “Hide Messages App” selected as well. Running beta 18 on iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.

Bug: I want my iPhone to display the notification icon in my lockscreen (the bubble on top with the number of new messages) whenever I have new messages.
I am having an issue where the behavior of the notification bubble seems inconsistent. Sometimes the bubble appears wit the new message, sometimes it doesnt.
What I figured out so far is that whenever BiteSMS is the main application running before I hit the power off button to lock my iPhone, the notification doesnt show.
If I exit to the main screen and BiteSMS is no longer the main app when I lock my iPhone, the bubble appears.

Is it possible to make the bubble appear every single time, wether or not biteSMS was the main app when I go to the lock screen?

Am I the only one seeing this behavior?

Edit by Martin, I understand but our focus is getting this release ready for public, so for now we are not looking at new functionality. It does not do what you are after.

ok, but I think that this is a very important feature, because the privacy is at top of priority!
Is there a way to use Apple’s settings in lockscreen and BiteSms’s settings in springboard?
