Topic: New SMS reminder sound Sorry, but bringing up this one again. Is there any progress on the cause of this problem? It does not seem to work on firmware 2.2 with biteSMS 2.5 either. The phone only alerts once for the incoming sms, and does not alert again. Cheers. |

Topic: New SMS reminder sound Yes it is a feature in 2.1 as stated on Apple’s website: Repeat alert up to two additional times for incoming text messages (http://www.apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate/) And no, it’s not working with biteSMS 2.5. I’m having biteSMS as my default app. |

Topic: New SMS reminder sound Actually I would HATE having it come thru the speaker as well with headphones in because I keep headphones in at school just to make sure it doesn’t ring (I don’t trust the silent, it’s failed on me before) and that would make me a LOT more likely to get my phone taken since i txt a lot at school. |

Topic: New SMS reminder sound And I can confirm that it DOES work with biteSMS due to the fact that the apple daemon reads the SMS db, it is not a feature of the app itself. I would like to hear a reminder tone if you can implement it but I don’t really care if not. |

Topic: New SMS reminder sound Since 2.1 the iPhone software automatically buzzes every 15 ( I think, please clarify if I’m wrong) minutes to remind you of a new message. It is not configurable. |

Topic: New SMS reminder sound You mention “supposed to have a repeated new-sms reminder….”, I have not heard of this feature, and cannot locate it. Anyone else shine any light on this? |

Topic: Wiget for Desktop/Macbook Yes, but you have to weigh that up against adding further authentication like a registration process containing username and password. The same could happen now for biteSMS, you could receive the credit SMS on a friends phone, then forward it to your iPhone. But really if you wanted to pretend to be someone else, there are hundreds of online SMS web portals that let you enter anything in the SenderID field. |

Topic: Wiget for Desktop/Macbook That’s spot on Dave, and it’s how we’ll do it for the AppStore iPod Touch version. Although there is no username and password that you speak of. |

Topic: Wiget for Desktop/Macbook Not really, you just need to send a token from the BiteSMS server to the phone, and enter the token in the widget. If it matches up it proves that you have the phone. Add to that the fact that you already know the username and password of the account and you have standard 2 factor authentication without anything that biteSMS doesn’t already do. |

Topic: Wiget for Desktop/Macbook I know this may seem an odd ask, and no doubt somthing that would take away from what you are out to acheive (n Iphone App), but I thought I’d ak anyway. I love bitesms and I use it all the time. I also spend alot of time on my computers, so was thinking how handy a widget or a desktop application that would allow me to send txt via Bitesms from my macbook/desktop would be. I know any reply would come via your phone but for speed of reply a computer application would be so handy What do you think the possibilitys of this are. Just so you know I am spreeding the word and gospel that is Bitesms to all who will listen. And most do. Thanks for all your work guys and girls we all appreciate it xx |
