Specifically, when you upgraded to your new iPhone 3G, did you restore from iTunes, install biteSMS and your credits were there / not there. If not there, did you email us, and we sent them to you. Or did you simply do a Lost Your Credits…..etc

Also, before sending the email, can you do another Lost Your Credits, so we can pick it up in the logs, and send your mobile number in the email.

Hello Martin,
i’m a user of your bite sms application from the beggining and all my wishes have been realised after waiting awhile. But only one wish still exists.

In switzerland the main cellphone carrier is called “swisscom”. they have a service called “xtra-zone” which can use all customers under the age of 27! And to my mind 80% of the swiss youth people use swisscom and their serive “xtra-zone”. With this service you can send, if signed up, 500 sms and mms for free per month over a internet platform. (xtra-zone.ch)

In Cydia there also excists an app which use this service for sending sms via the iphone. its called “xtra-sender”. but everytime two sms apps isn’t so user-friendly.

because of this my wish for a new feature is that you may could integrate this service as a third button beside “send via carrier” and “send via biteSMS”
with your user friendly interface in bitesms that would be genius to write sms.

i know that maybe out of your view there isn’t any profit for you. but i maybe there is a way to realise is although.

I don’t know if it’s a bug of this version, or maybe it’s due to one of the new “features” (credits are based on unit ID), but I can’t restore my credit. I changed my old iPhone for a 3G… so the phone is different. Before that, the restore credit function always worked seamlessly.

If a large population of your customer base (the ones buying credit), is interested then why not ?
You could then have maybe more customers too ? The ones without iPhone or without G1 ?

At a first step, Is porting BiteSMS to Mac will take you long time ?

Our DNS Provider (Telstra, largest in Australia) were not returning DNS lookups for approx 1-hour this evening AEST.

So, if you tried to browse our website or send an SMS, you would have been unable to. Apologies, we will look at alternatives to ensure better redundancy (although Telstra are supposed to provide very high-level SLAs anyway).

Could you tell us which carrier in which country you are using ? FYI, Verizon is not supported, if that helps.

It could also be a (temporary ?) carrier problem (maybe due to high traffic ?). Are you able to send messages from the stock SMS app ?

I’ve installed BiteSMS and changed the settings to have SMS sent per mobile carrier. However, when making an SMS and trying to send (by pushing the Send via Carrier button) it I get an error: “Unable to send SMS”

What could be the reason for this error, knowing that there is not much else that you can adjust in the settings?

There is no way the biteSMS software can cause a message to sit in the queue and keep sending, i.e. multiple times.

If you email help@bitesms.com with your mobile number and the paytv mobile number, I can send you the delivery receipt report for that message. How do you know they did not process it many times…?

I have resolve the problem by restoring the IPhone and jailbreak again. After that I sync back all the App Store application follow by the biteSMS. Now it is working fine. I guess the problem could be due to the Installer because I can see lots of crash information in the iPhone relating to Installer before I restore it.

I have yellowsn0w 0.9.5 installed before installing BiteSMS latest version. I hadn’t had BiteSMS installed prior so am a new user but all works fine for me. Both seem to work fine together.

I definitely agree with some of the post on this forum, it would be a good idea to have an option to display conversations in landscape mode , this would greatly enhance the user experience as they would not have to keep switching positions from upright to sideways. Also for the landscape mode sometimes its helpful to see what your responding to while you write, i know theres not alot of space there to work with, but im sure that instead of making the textbox autoextend it could be fixed with the scrollbar, possibly an option to get rid of the counter to provide some additional real estate for the conversation and allow users to click on the conversation to hide the keyboard to read the conversation. By far an exceptional tool that im sure will continue to grow and make iphone users happy.

got finally in touch with the paytv guys, unfortunately I didn’t have any luck explaining that the issue wasn’t caused directly by me and that my phone was turned off when those sms were sent to them, so I’ll be billed of 11,00 € for something I didn’t request.

i refrain myself from using BiteSMS until you give me some details of what happened.
