I really am going to miss BiteSMS. :( My iPhone 4 comes today and I’ll have to give up my jailbreak…oh the pain, the horror, the madness. Oh Lawd, if you’re listening. Help! I need the jailbreak for the iPhone 4 to come out now, I can’t live w/out Bite! :(

hello,

I’d like to report a bug and ask some help to fix it.
Indeed, i have bitesms and iphonedelivery.
When i recieve a delivery report (full screen) in flash mode with the button “ok”, and in the same time, i recieve a sms, i push the button “ok” and the iphone crashes… it reboot in safe mode… each time..

I have this bug since many version of bite sms…

Found a bug.. in quicklist and quick reply there’s no translation of the time… i’m italian and if i have an sms arrived yesterday i have to see “ieri” not “yesterday”

About the quick list icon. Is placed right after the battery icon causing it to disappear if another icon is on. For example when only the battery icon appears the QL icon is ok. If the battery icon with % or the battery icon with the clock icon appears the QL is not appearing. If lots of icon appearing on status bar then the QL icon is “pushed” at the right of the status bar near the signal icon.
Martin i send you an e-mail with screenshots is it possible to fix this bug?

After starting biteSMS it takes 3 seconds and then shuts down automatically.
New installation doesn’t help.
Can anybody solve the problem?

Hi, I was enjoying the prompt QC very much before the update, as I could always just press the volume button to get the QC to come up. However, now, with 4.97 I need to tap the “bell” icon to get the QC screen to pop up.

Anyway to revert back to the old way?

“By popular demand added a Tap HUD on the lock screen to launch Quick Compose.”

How do I turn on this feature? Whenever I’m on the lock screen and I press the volume up or down it goes straight to quick compose. I can’t seem to find a setting for this.

I only get the sounds of messages but no alerts. Not sure when it started. An upgrade and reinstall has not helped.

Got it. I just want to say, because this cannot be stated enough: Thank you so much for this product Martin and all those who work on it. It’s really amazing, and less expensive than the competition. I used to use irealsms, and was iffy about switching over, but the first time I used bitesms I was hooked. Thanks again, and congratulations on an amazing product.

Hi all,

When I click on the camera icon to send an MMS nothing happens, the other grey icons work but not that!! Any ideas?? I’ve reinstalled a couple of times and have the latest version.

I am having issues with BiteSMS on iOS4 when there is a bad internet connection available. The network is connected, but no internet is available. It then basically just ‘Hangs’ at sending.

Sometimes it times out, after a minute of 5, and a retry then works. I want the option to retry after 15 seconds however – if it didnt send in 15 seconds, its not going to in the next 5 minutes either.

My workaround right now is to restart the phone, since that force-cancels the sending. From that point on I can resubmit and successfully send the message.

Any thoughts on this? It would be nice if the timeout could be configurable, or, just turned down alot.

On the technical side, my suspicion is that BiteSMS opens a TCP socket to send the message to the BiteSMS server. This socket doesnt directly connect since no internet connectivity is available. However when internet connectivity becomes available, the existing socket does not use that – possibly since the Network interface changed (ie from 3G to Wifi). What needs to be done is close the existing socket after 15 seconds, and open a new one to re-try.

Possibly the best solution would be to close the socket after 15 seconds, and retry. This can be done, say, 2 times. Then it gives up and allows the user to manually retry again.

Alternatively what would work as well is ‘cancel’ functionality when sending, so that a hanging send can be interrupted and retried.
