WEIRD BUG!!!

I’ve just noticed that, when you sent a message contains some url link like “www.apple.com” smileys don’t appear at all!! :S (<- appear like that!)

Avatar Jourgensen 76 post(s)

Lots and lots of false ‘message failed’ errors, anyone know whats up with that?

Avatar minhtuanp86 3 post(s)

There are a number of bugs that has happened many times to me:
1, when i compose a text includes unicode characters, if i insert an emotion icon as the last character of that particular sms my iphone crashes and goes to safe mode.
2, when I read emails using the stock mail application and receive texts at the same time, the phone resprings
3, when I re-oder icons on springboard, if I receive texts at the same time, it resprings as well

Edit by Martin, Very odd, I suspect another application is clashing with biteSMS. Can you please disable all other Mobile Substrate applications – do this my installing SBSettings, and using More->Mobile Substrate Add ons, turn off all of them except biteSMS.

I am talking about sbsetting stoggle

Avatar theplague 613 post(s)

tosbas:
You can’t remove it as you remove SBSettings toggles the usual way within the app?

uffa you right

Avatar Keith 10 post(s)

Any workaround to use iBlacklist and BiteSMS at the same time?

Avatar lovecraft 48 post(s)

i use iBlacklist and BiteSMS at the same time and they work fine togheter.

Avatar andrea-rm 46 post(s)

lovecraft they doent works good togheter if u see better there is a bug on missed call/sms on lockscreen when u receve more than one :(

Avatar tosbsas 150 post(s)

any hope of getting the lockscreen light up when text arrives? I get the sound and all but need to press home button to see the message. I work in a place where its loud and seeing the screen turn on would be awesome

Avatar Soggydoughnuts 23 post(s)

New release is very clean. I’m using it atm but I agree with tosbsas that I would like the screen to light up.

The only other complaint I have is not the ability to press volume up + touch to activate the QC within in the application. When you use activator for that feature it is much slower than if you would have it built into the application. (I could be missing this in the settings where you can change this as I haven’t used bite, but I couldn’t find it)

Thanks,
Donuts

lol @ Soggydoughnuts. :D

Edit by Martin, used to LMAO at your iReal posts, welcome…:-)

Avatar Soggydoughnuts 23 post(s)

lol oh hey sysrage I tried I really did. I just gave up I don’t even have any connection anymore and get no information whatsoever and well nothing was getting updated. I didn’t know if anything was coming and sill don’t and well now bite has everything I need and more and updates are still coming.

I still love Chris and all he has done but his business is going down the drain… with iReal at least unless there is some huge update coming here soon that brings it back up to speed. I am done with it.

Edit by Martin, welcome across to the dark side….;-)

@ tosbsas and Soggydoughnuts

Activate the SMS Alerts from SBSettings and you’ll have a lighted screen every time a message comes in.

@ Soggydoughnuts

You may still use Volume Up + Touch by not using LibActivator in invoking the Quick Compose. The moment you disable QC usage of LibActivator at biteSMS settings, it will go back to default which is Volume Up + Touch.

@ Keith and andrea-rm

Just like lovecraft, have been using iBlacklist and biteSMS together for quite some time now and never had any problem, even with Missed Calls or SMS’. What’s your setting for iBlacklist? By the way, avoid activating Notifications Privacy within iBlacklist. It does do weird things. biteSMS’ privacy setting will suffice.

Avatar Soggydoughnuts 23 post(s)

@Tuffy
I have it disabled and on the lockscreen the default is just volume up… at least for me. I don’t know if this is a conflict with something. When unlocked it is up+touch but when I touch nothing pops up… :S

And thanks Martin. Just promise not to dissapear ;-)

Welcome back martin :D any news? Any very good news?:P

Avatar tosbsas 150 post(s)

whow tuffy – that was easy – thanks

Avatar Martin Administrator 4,281 post(s)

@soggy, it’s intended to work like that because without any third party apps installed, the lock-screen does not actually have a HUD. So, in other words we did not want to introduce one just for biteSMS. If you are on lock screen with screen ON then it’s just volume-up, with screen off, then QC does not appear and you can easily adjust the volume.

However there is a plan (by popular user demand) to add this HUD simply for consistency.

phate89, what good news were you after?

@TUFFY
“Activate the SMS Alerts from SBSettings and you’ll have a lighted screen every time a message comes in.”

But, when ‘Incoming SMS Messages’ option is ‘Show Nothing’ and only ‘Quick List’ is turn on, my lockscreen doesn’t light up. Any solution for that?

Avatar TUFFY 8 post(s)

@Lashe

Actually, I’m quite confused as to why you’d want to activate your light on your lockscreen when you asked biteSMS not to show anything. However, just to satisfy such requirement, you may opt to still activate “Show Quick Reply” but turn off the “Show Name” and/or “Show Text” function below it to still have privacy of not having people read your message.

Avatar phate89 1,012 post(s)

@martin some new good feature for NeXT release:p

Avatar Lashe 3 post(s)

@TUFFY

I agree with you because ‘not to show anything’ it’s not to show anything and I understand that :-) but, for example: sometimes being in loudly room the lighting of the screen can be useful. This is not very importatnt thing, but can useful sometimes like with iRealsms… I use LockInfo and QuickList is the best option for me due to aesthetically reasons. So, QuickList + light up will be great solution for me. Anyway thank you for precisely informations.

Avatar Soggydoughnuts 23 post(s)

@Martin
Sounds good.

@Tuffy
I like the screen lighting up but also showing nothing just as an extra notification but to still keep the privacy.

Those are my only to requests to this application. Everything else seems really nice atm.
