Guys, onwards…..

Source is www.bitesms.com/cydia/beta4.7

Beta1 and Beta1a released on 16 Feb contains the following:

Quick List feature! From a status bar icon, easily display all your unread SMS messages and action them as required from Quick Reply.

Fixed up HUD click file, so it can now be customized via Winterboard as per other images etc.

Fixed up issue where Quick Compose and Quick Reply could make future alerts on the SpringBoard appear in landscape mode.

Beta2 released on 10 March contains the following:

Delivery Reports, done really really nicely!

Lots of improvements to Quick List. For example support in lock screen mode, wider landscape display and ability to right-swipe to delete a message.

Quick Reply now has 8 action buttons you can use. Simply configure (displayed or not, display order and gesture) in Settings, Quick Reply, Buttons.

For example, my top 3 Quick Reply buttons are {Later} {Popup} {Send}

You can now Delete a message in Quick Reply as well!

As above, but 6 action buttons for Quick Compose.

For example, my top 3 Quick Compose buttons are {Call} {Popup} {Send}

New settings “Lock Screen Mode >” and “Unlock Screen Mode >”, allows you to quickly manage and visualize the settings for these two very different modes.

For example, want to use just Quick List in lock screen mode with no SMS alerts? It’s easy to configure!

If you are in Quick List, Quick Compose or Quick Reply and an incoming SMS arrives, it no longer “takes over the screen” it simply gets added to the Quick List (after appropriate sound and vibrate) .

The “Tap for Quick Compose” HUD now starts to fade immediately (still takes time to fade but starts straight away not 1.5 seconds later)

Under the group Carrier SMS Plan in settings, the “Plan Includes” and “Currently Used” counters are now 5-digits instead of 4.

Feedback (bugs, suggestions, polishing etc) from Beta1 and some from Release 4.6…

Beta3 released on 17 March contains the following:

Refined DIM logic for Quick List

Moving between Quick List and Quick Reply will remember any text you have typed in Quick Reply if you dismiss that message (i.e. by doing a Later action). Typically you are checking another incoming SMS from Quick List and then return to that Quick Reply message.

Added new feature called “Pocket Protection” in Lock Screen Mode, Feature settings screen. Default ON. Set this to OFF if you would like all the Quick Reply buttons to be active without needing to tap in the text field. I like to use this!

Added back missed call and biteSMS icon to Away List.

Added Forward button to Quick Reply.

Fixed the “dead spot” HUD issue.

Added a “None” option for Delivery Reports, Play Sound setting.

Added QC and QR settings for the “Red X” and “Home Button” to allow them to invoke “Later” (unread) or “Close” (read) actions.

The Quick List icon is now much more responsive and touch area is larger!

Fixed up Quick Compose and Quick Reply buttons so they behave more native.

Beta3b released on 23 March contains the following:

Added a new Quick List bubble icon from Max Rudberg at http://maxthemes.com

Added a new “unread” counter inside the Quick List icon.

We now support Delivery Reports for scheduled messages – you simply specify it when creating the scheduled event.

The Delivery Report tick icon is now much easier to select for display of the delivery timestamp.

Reinvented the “Dim on Send” to now be a more generic “Dim when Done” preference.

Lots and lots of bug fixes and feedback from previous beta releases. Thanks for all your effort in finding these.

Fixed up crash issues and performance issues as well.

Beta3c released on 24 March contains the following:

Quick List: We now use white bubble with black text on the black title bar, and blue bubble with black text on the gray title bar.

Fixed a number of crashes, keyboard issues and bugs raised in the forum (thanks!).

The Red X is no longer disabled during “delay sending” process.

Beta4 released on 29 March (also updated a bug so now Beta4a) contains the following:

The Quick List status bar icon is now MUCH easier to press – you can’t really miss it now!

When Quick Reply is open, you can now more easily access Quick List – just press the Quick List status bar icon.

Quick List animation speed has been addressed.

Added a new setting called “Quick List Count” – controls if the counter appears inside the Quick List status bar icon.

Fixed a bunch of bugs and crashes from previous Beta releases.

Beta4b released on 30 March contains the following:

In Settings, Delivery Reports the iPhoneDelivery repos source can now be copied for pasting into Cydia.

Fixed bug, whereby when in landscape mode in Quick List then using Quick Reply, it would appear in portrait mode.

Quick Compose now remembers text you entered (within 5 minutes or until sent), so you can exit Quick Compose and look at Quick List and then continue again.

Fixed some bugs in Quick Compose (in contact display list).

Added a Forum link in the Settings, About page.

Beta5 released on 14 April contains the following:

Changed the Quick List gesture to be just short press (to minimize clashing with other status bar apps).

For Quick Compose as well as remembering the entered text we now also remember the recipient(s).

In the About page, grouped Website and Forum together and upon selection, these pages are rendered inside biteSMS (instead of a new Safari window).

Moved the License information from the “Settings, About” page to a new “Settings, Credits / License Info” page. Also moved credit stuff into here as well.

A license is no longer required to use biteSMS, if you don’t have a license or credits you will be shown ads instead. The intent is that those who can’t afford / don’t want to pay can at least help in supporting the biteSMS team by accepting the ads.

In the “Settings, Credits / License Info” page, we have added a new option, “Show me Adverts”, so that those users with a license can have a play with seeing ads, just for fun (some people love ads you know!).

Fixed a bunch more bugs.

Note: The “Currently Used” SMS counter bug is still present, and is being worked on (it’s tricky to fix).

Avatar blunissan 116 post(s)

Epic, cant wait! Still stoked on 4.6

Avatar Ray661 643 post(s)

Question, will this conflict with other status bar stuff, like proswitcher (I have it set to double tap the status bar) or sbsettings?

Avatar csprague 200 post(s)

As the ability to recall the quick reply window is right around the corner, it may be time to consider somehow adding a timestamp to the quick reply window. This doesn’t seem to be a big deal to me, but I can see it being a problem if a window is hidden for hours on end.

However, I’m sure that y’all have a very native and intuitive way of implementing this feature, I’m sure it will turn out great.

It’s there…

I’m excited for this release :D. I’m already satisfied with 4.6 and already you’re moving forward.. I’m thankful I purchased a license instead of waiting for cracks of this.

Avatar Martin Administrator 4,047 post(s)

It’s cracked already, but remember ONE day it’ll either get too hard to crack, or the cracker will lost interest, in the meantime the License price has gone from USD 4.95 to 11.95, and every release we increase it, more features, higher price. So, I guess my point is for those still running cracked versions, maybe some day you’ll really want to buy a copy, and maybe it’s a good time now while the price is still low!

Avatar amau96 21 post(s)

what about the free version with adds? is it still around the corner?

Edit by Martin, Yes for Release 4.7

Sweet, been waiting for this. Thanks for transferring my license to my new 3gs. It’s like a whole new app now with the faster phone. This app is pretty much complete to me when this and the ability to swipe from one QR to another gets implemented, hopefully sometime soon :). Bitesms is like a snowball rolling down from a mountain getting bigger and bigger and better really fast. Keep up the good work.

Avatar Ray661 643 post(s)

You think apple will ever notice the giant snowball? Cause 99% of the stuff here shouldve been in the original app anyway :P

Avatar poison 227 post(s)

Can’t wait!!!

Avatar urMiNE90 491 post(s)

Hehe they probably will. Most of their new features in 3.0 was from the jailbreak community. 4.0 will be no different I believe.

Avatar alghawas 6 post(s)

Sounds good Martin :-)!

Avatar Ray661 643 post(s)

The repo DOES NOT have www

Avatar patchel 3 post(s)

nice!!!

Avatar poison 227 post(s)

Wooohooo! Thanks Martin!

Avatar Ray661 643 post(s)

Love it :) but can you change your repo in your post it’s wrong

Edit by Martin, what’s wrong with it? It’s always had a www as the prefix.

Avatar ec0yne 121 post(s)

Sent two messages to myself from bitesms main app, quickly exited the app, invoked the “b”, Quick Reply came up, I closed both messages, with Mark as Read on Close turned on, and the b icon remains, as well as a 1 badge on SMS… like the Mark as Read issue returned?

Edit by Martin, umm very odd, can you reproduce it?
