The (1) problem never made its way to me until the last beta (I guess 7?). I am on 3.0 so I’m not sure what attempted fix was implemented, but you’ve also now hurt users not on 3.1.2 with the latest fix. I now share the frustration with others as I am a 0-inbox kind of guy. It literally drives me nuts.

Was any attempt made to resolve this in the new final release? Also, could we perhaps implement the previous code for users not on 3.1.2??

I would have rather kept the beta process going until it was bug free. Hence the concept and whole exisitance of the beta. It gives you a bad name when you start releasing official releases with known bugs. At least betas have an excuse…
Could this rush release possibly be a reaction to the fact that one of the competing apps is supposed to release an update in a couple days? Who knows.. But bite has never been known to release buggy software before.

Its okay, this doesn’t happen everyday. Martin and the guys deserve a break more than anyone else here. They’ve been working tirelessly like donkeys for so long.

I’m sure 4.5 beta 1 will take good care of these and they can release something like v4.4.1 before getting onto v4.5.

I AGREE with theplague, I’m in the same situation, waiting for all the tweaks to work on 3.1.2

You guys that don’t want to take the time to re-jailbreak, have you purchased PkgBackup from Cydia Store? It makes restoring your apps really simple. I used it when I upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1.0 (I was lazy and didn’t want to upgrade to 3.0.1 or 3.0.2) :-) Anyway it made restoring all my Cydia apps a breeze. I clicked restore and walked away and came back 45 minutes later and my phone was waiting to be rebooted with all packages installed.

Ok, so when are we going to get 4.5 beta 1?

There is still an issue with the badge being wrong or it says Message (1) in the Navigation bar but as soon as you tap the biteSMS icon or the Message(1) in the navigation bar it realizes it’s incorrect and fixes itself. It’s annoying but it’s not too inconvenient.

Dan thanks for the heads up, this is just what I needed. Does it backup and restore App Store apps too ? Do you set up your iPhone as “new” before doing this, or do you restore from an iTunes backup after jailbreaking ? And when you restore the apps, is the order of the homescreens maintained ?

No, only Cydia apps and manually added repos.

There’s on the other hand an app called AppBackup which backups all the appstore app settings so that after a clean restore you can use that file to get the settings back. I assume you have the apps on you computer still.
I’m in the middle of restoring clean to 3.1.2 so I haven’t tested it yet, can come back and report when I’m done.
