i think this should be a top priority to 3.2 update!
while the sms isn’t delivered maybe a gray bg color in the message bubble and turns green when delivered!

this sounds great! but not sure if this is possible.. xD

It’ll be a little more refined than that, it’s been discussed on a previous thread.

In summary, there will be a little icon type image that appears on a bubble to denote the delivery receipt state.

Avatar aLwYn 1,105 post(s)

how will the icon look like? like the blackberry’s tick for sent and a ‘d’ for delivered?

Avatar Martin Administrator 7,330 post(s)

We haven’t got that far yet…but we’ll try and make sure it looks nice, is unobtrusive and informative.

Avatar aLwYn 1,105 post(s)

haha.. that sounds good… ok will wait till theres some new on it! cheers!

With delivery notfication in biteSMS there is nothing I lack from this app. It’s amazing! Keep up the fantastic work! :)

Avatar kashar 10 post(s)

Yes icon also look gud :) but Filipe Guerra idea was also gud keep it up martin

I think the bubble color would be awesome

Avatar aLwYn 1,105 post(s)

Either way a notification for delivered msg would be fantastic!

undelivered grey bg color to delivered green (color of the bubble) is a brilliant idea by filipe guerra
martin’s idea of icon type image on the bubble is equally good
but but but…
martin himself has said earlier, that delivery notification feature is not a trivial issue
and cant be implemented as iphone firmware doesnt suport it, at this moment
so hate to bring evbody’s excitement down, just like mine
cant see it happening anytime soon(er)
right martin ??? :)

Right, but maybe we’ll add the prefix code #N3 (or whatever it is), as I get a lot of emails about this, just as an interim solution…?

Avatar jones 14 post(s)

very good opinion. +1

Avatar mohitkhanna 79 post(s)

even interim solution would be fine
i believe, codes are different for each carrier and each country

martin, if u have access to such info, then cud u pl tell me the code for me to get started
i am on AIRTEL network in New Delhi, India
would be of great help
thanx

Avatar aLwYn 1,105 post(s)

my provider is Singtel from Singapore and to get confirmation delivery, we have to type #R# followed by the msg to send. eg. #R# Hi tom wads up?
then i will recv a 2nd msg which is the notification of delivery. xD

Even with prefix codes it would be great! Really, I mean GREAT!! This is my most wanted feature :)

I don’t, and that’s one of the reasons it’s not been done this way, simply the amount of support emails…see it’s started already…LOL!

Avatar SMSBoy 176 post(s)

Maybe it would be nice to get a feature like QuickSMS has, you can go to settings and set a pretext like “*N#” as delivernotification and all SMS would have this at the start (invisible while compose)

Avatar handsomePATT 38 post(s)

Why do u need a delivery notification if it doesn’t send it tells u otherwise it means it sent right?

Avatar Mickey 689 post(s)

You can send an sms successfully, but that doesn’t mean the recipient actually received the sms. They could have coverage issues, or there phone could be turned off. etc.

Avatar handsomePATT 38 post(s)

Ok ha then yeah I guess

Martin,

With Iphone OS 3.0 Beta out, would it be possible to check if Delivery Notifications is supported in this OS?
