When I’m looking at a contact in the address book and I click on “send text message”-I am brought to bitesms (my default sms client)-but nothing happens. I am simply brought to the message list.

In the Apple sms client—this action would open up a new message, with that contact’s name in the To: field.

Any plans to work out this kink?

you can go to the release page, in the 4.1beta1 this issue has been resolved.. do wait for the official release of 4.1 if you dun wanna test out the beta..
