It should be on the left, it is elsewhere on the iPhone, such as Safari closing multiple pages.

Not exactly polished…. they don’t even have a working Firmware 3.0 version out on public release yet!

They have a working public beta. But not with the enhancements shown in that pic/pics.
I think that is one of their contact picture demos for their QR

You had a public beta too martin… then a private beta. Not sure whats so funny, the fact that they have a beta, or the fact that your user base wants their features.

What’s funny, is that you are harping on about features in an application that is not out on public release, and therefore not readily available for users who have upgraded to Firmware 3.0.

Worse yet is that Im actually harping on about features that have been in their public 2.x release, that some people it seems are trying to pass these ideas to you claiming as their own. Im not trying to get into an argument about how great their app is or isnt as I love both yours and their app, as I use each one for their individual strengths. I just hate when people try to take credit for others work is all Martin. And you seem to endorse that

@Dresden : dude, don’t you have anything else to do than complaining about biteSMS copying from iReal ? You don’t really think that if you just write a couple of lines of your thoughts (which I btw respect wholeheartedly) biteSMS will stop developing new features ?

If one company builds a hybrid car does it mean another cannot build one ? If you’re so keen about iReal’s features, ask them to patent them. That will stop “us” from “copying” them around, ya ? Whenever I read your post its like utter selfishness, I mean don’t feel bad, but you don’t have anything constructive to write except for ass whipping biteSMS and blaming it all the time ! You even started blaming the users now for suggesting things !

@Ram: I understand where you are coming from. And I am all for Bite trying to one up the other guy, as that is how the game is played, and thats how you push people to make great ideas even better! what I dont like is when people pass these ideas as their own. its too much of a coincidence for him to think of all 3 of these features himself when these were the 3 main feature updates of the last IR products. And I think I just lashed out at Martin for seeming to backup the other guy. But I apologize for the disrespect. I work in an industry/environment where things like this happen all the time… where there is real espionage situations and stealing of prototype units and everything(just like the movies LOL), and millions of dollars are actually on the line and things like this really push a button in me. And I have to actually say aloud that I dont work for you guys and let this stuff happen LOL. But thanks for slaping me in the face and bringing me off this high horse. :)

I really didn’t mean that, honestly. But its hard for me to understand what you eventually want ? I’m certain that you like iReal, right ? Some of us like biteSMS better. If features are getting leaked out from iReal, can’t you tell them to create a private base consisting of veteran users who can contain such ideas ?

biteSMS is not millions of dollars, it costs 5 bucks. Why can’t both messaging apps live harmoniously ? I’m pretty certain that we (as in biteSMS devs + users) have along the line thought about a few ideas that iReal is yet to think about. In the future if they do implement these, we wouldn’t go to their forums and scream “omg you stole from us you bastards !!”, would we ? There’s no time or inclination towards that.

At the end the attempt for both biteSMS and iReal is making great iPhone apps that lifts the human standard of living. If you take 10 new biteSMS features and dump them into iReal it wouldn’t harm people. That being said I completely agree that one should give credit to the source of the idea, but like I said, if ideas get ported from biteSMS to iReal and such a credit is missing, no one would mind.

Don’t look at everything from the business, money and your profession’s point of view. I hope you understand what I mean.

Just want to make it 100% clear we didn’t see that idea in the forums of iRealSMS, and to be frank it’s not really that similar.

I’m just saying for saying’s sake. :-( I don’t even know how iReal looks like, never used it, but this idea of having a corner-cross did occur to me a few days back. I got it from SBSettings. Sorry for “stealing” from SBSettings. Shit I’m going to hell for sure.
