Lots still to do for Release 4 of biteSMS, but here’s a couple of screen shots to wet the appetite.

a question…the 3.0 will have a privacy feature itself…you still leave the toggle in your settings (like in the screenshots) or remove it to use the offical one? it’s in the iPhone settings under messages i think (the same page where you can disable the mms) you can disable the preview of sms.. Unother question..you rewrite completely the app for this release?

Edit by Martin, The Preview setting has always been in the Apple SMS application. The biteSMS provacy feature does a lot more.

I agree. I know the pink thing is part of your theme, but some people might think its too feminine for them…

Also the blue button with pink text doesnt mesh well.. they dont give enough contrast.

I would suggest a pink button or make the button exactly like stock… but when your sending via bite, the button will say “Bite” instead of saying “Send.” Just a couple suggestions.

Guys, the circle character counter does not really look right anymore, given the requirement to optimize the space.

Here’s a sample screen shot of what we propose (counter only appears when the text field expands from one line to two lines). Ignore the font and position of the text, it’s just a concept at present.

Beta’s not ready…and yes keyboard lag is fixed.

Character counter concept looks good to me.

its amazing Martin ! just curious, did u try this on 3.0 or still on 2.2 ?! :D sending progress on top of the screen is awesome, as well as character counter !

character counter looks awesome, and the concept is good. dont have to always put the counter there, like in previous versions.
and yes the button,my suggestion is as same as reznor’s. Pink text doesnt look good on the blue button. Could change the pink Send text to blue Bite!, that’ll look more good.

1. The character counter looks very decent and the idea of it appearing at the second line is nice too. Am curious to know how it looks like when you reach the third or fourth lines in the text fields.

2. What is normally present in the same space when the sending bar is not there ? The name of the recipient ?

Edit by Martin, yes the name as per normal. This is the same as in the Apple Messaging application in Firmware 3.0

Same place, although I’ll need to check if in Unicode how many characters can appear on the first line in Landscape mode.

char counter will be better this way then the pie.. but it looks aweful just like this.. lolx..

Not sure if you know this Martin but when pressing the QC button the keyboard when sliding up is not transparent. Doesn’t look good compared to the rest of the app. And when the keyboard slides up from a incoming message (QR) it’s transparent all the way up. Looking very sleek and nice. I’m just not a fan of inconsistency :)

Martin, I dont use the landscape mode (yet). Surprised to see, that this is the original way to show conversations because who is using right aligned content these days? dont get it

The character counter is tricky.. I tried to arrange some elements
nothing special, not graphical correct or so, just a try to place items

I know its a lot but we shouldnt forget: people wont accept to lose infos/options which are already working..

Edit by Martin, I’m getting confused!, no features are being lost in my original screen shots! In addition the overwhelming votes from users was to optimize the screen space. In your screen shots (these are not ours) you are using another complete line, when in my view it’s not required anymore.
