This is such a little thing, but when replying with quick reply, after the quickreply box goes away you see the apple notification for just a second. Is there a way to stop this? This is the on a 4S running 5.0.1. Thanks

I was seriously coming here to say that I love all the new stuff with iOS 5, but mention something about this. I’m such a picky person and this is currently the biggest thing that bothers me. I’m also on a 4S with 5.0.1

Yes I have the same issue. 4S on 5.0 with 6.2.3 firmware.

I agree, just proving hard to actually rectify.

Thanks Martin. I was just hoping there was an option I was missing that would turn off the Apple notification. No big deal, love BiteSMS, so glad for the 4S jb so I can use it again.

Are you talking notification banner or lockscreen alert? Either way, I don’t have this problem. I use lockinfo which syncs with the bite alerts when everything (apple settings, bite settings, lockinfo settings) are set up correctly. The problem for me is that the apple lockscreen just doesn’t play nicely with jailbroken alerts that go outside of the standard interface.

Am I just one of the few people who actually have this issue?

I have this as well. Try this to see it fully:

1. Go to Notifications
2. Go to Messages
3. Notification Center: ON / Alert Style: None / Badge App Icon: ON / Show Preview: ON / VIEW IN LOCK SCREEN: ON (this is what’s causing it)
4. Close Settings and lock your phone (press Sleep button)
5. Ask anyone to send you a message (just for testing)
6. When you receive said message, the phone will turn on and you will see the biteSMS’ white QR
7. TILT YOUR PHONE SIDEWAYS for landscape view

You will see the QR will go to landscape, but the original Messages alert is still in portrait mode.

Here’s a sample:

Now you can say “oh then just turn of VIEW IN LOCK SCREEN on number 3 to get rid of the Messages Alert”, but if you turn it off, your messages will not show up on lock mode, which sucks.

NOTE: I saw on the Release section pertaining to this “bug.” Well, obviously it ain’t fixed.

Additionally, there is an issue with QR & QC where the “autocorrect popup” will remain on the screen after hitting send. That is, if the last word you type gives a correction option and you hit send, the QR/QC window dissappears while the autocorrect popup itself remains on the screen roughly the same amount of time as the recent iOS 5 notification would remain after QR.

Second issue I noticed, if you hit reply at approximately the same time that you rotate the phone’s orientation (landscape vs portrait) then there will be a minor sizing glitch for the size of the QR (and sometimes QC). This is minor and only cosmetic, but I’m sure you all want this beautiful app to gleam! :)

Also…. can we have the option to choose where we want the “close” button? I miss the option to have the “little red X”.

I’ll keep checking for stuff to help y’all out! Thanks for all the hard work!

Sorry for the digression…..
Sushiboy…. what is the name of the slider you have? Its slick

Also, I noticed that this weekend. It shows up for me too. The problem is that if you remove the notification entirely, will it still show up if the phone sleeps before responding.

I really like how the text shows up in the iOS lockscreen “queue” if you don’t respond immediately.
ADMIN.. do you think BiteSMS can better integrate this into the software?
I like to refer to QR/QC as a “lite” program. Perhaps you can add a “lite” system to be able to access text/conversation lists?

Blitzer: it’s part of a theme called Jaku (a paid theme) by William Szilvester. Really nice theme!

ADMIN: Thanks so much for being Jonny-on-the-spot with the quick bug patches! I’ll be on the lookout for anything else I notice.

Sushiboy: Thanks for the info. I may try that. I use a theme w/ all Mac OSX icons… I love it so much that I go through renaming all the image files to update from the old names to the current iOS 5 ones… painful but worth it!
